I capture weddings, elopements, and all the moments in between—and I’d love to tell your story too. I hope you enjoy these resources, and if you’re ready to chat more, feel free to reach out and inquire below!
Anna and Zach’s intimate summer celebration began with a Lyndale Rose Garden elopement in Minneapolis, surrounded by blooming roses and their closest family. Tucked beside Lake Harriet, this iconic Minneapolis ceremony location created the perfect backdrop for their heartfelt vows before heading to a cozy, candlelit reception at Khâluna.
Anna and I met back in 2018 when she modeled for The Volk — a local magazine I used to photograph for. Even then, she followed along with my work, quietly knowing that one day, when it was her turn, she’d reach out.
Fast forward to August 2025 — and there we were.
A warm Minnesota summer day.
An intimate ceremony at Lyndale Rose Garden.
And a beautifully curated dinner reception at Khâluna in Minneapolis.
It was personal. Emotional. Effortless. And completely them.
If you’re considering getting married at Lyndale Rose Garden or planning a Minneapolis elopement, this day is such a beautiful example of how to keep things intentional while still elevated.

The Lyndale Rose Garden, located within Lyndale Park near Lake Harriet, is one of the most romantic ceremony locations in Minneapolis. With blooming roses, fountains, and manicured pathways, it feels intimate yet timeless.
It’s especially perfect for:
• Small weddings
• Elopements
• Micro weddings
• Private vow exchanges
The roses typically bloom from late June through early September, with peak bloom happening in July and early August.
For photography, the best light happens:
Anna and Zach chose August, which gave us lush greenery and full blooms — truly the sweet spot for a summer Minneapolis wedding.
Yes — if you’re hosting a formal ceremony.
Permits are obtained through the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.
Generally:
• Small ceremonies require a reservation
• Larger setups (chairs, arches, amplified sound) require additional permits
• Professional photography sessions may require a permit depending on scale
I always recommend couples confirm current requirements directly with the Minneapolis Park Board, as policies can shift seasonally.
When planning your ceremony here, keep in mind:
• No open flames
• No rice/confetti/flower petal tosses
• No staking into the ground
• Decorations must be minimal and removed immediately after
Because the garden is public, events are typically short and respectful of other visitors.
The beauty of this location?
You truly don’t need much décor — the roses do all the work.
Summer weekends can be busy, especially:
• Saturday afternoons
• Peak bloom season
For a more private experience:
• Choose a weekday ceremony
• Plan for morning or early evening
Anna and Zach’s intimate guest count helped the space feel personal and calm, even during summer.
Yes — Lyndale Park is generally pet-friendly.
However:
• Dogs must remain leashed
• Owners must clean up after pets
• Certain areas may have seasonal restrictions
If including your dog in your ceremony, always double-check park regulations beforehand.

For out-of-town guests attending a Lyndale Rose Garden wedding, these nearby hotels are great options:
• Hotel Alma – boutique, intimate, design-forward
• The Hewing Hotel – upscale, North Loop favorite
• Graduate Minneapolis – close to the University area
• The Hotel Emery – classic downtown option
All are within reasonable distance of Lake Harriet and Khâluna.
After their ceremony, Anna and Zach hosted an intimate reception at Khâluna — and it was absolutely perfect.
Khâluna blends:
• Elevated Southeast Asian cuisine
• Warm, modern interiors
• Intimate dining spaces
• Incredible cocktail presentation
For couples planning a Minneapolis elopement, restaurant receptions like this are such a smart move.
• Ideal for small guest counts
• Built-in atmosphere (minimal décor needed)
• Incredible food experience
• Warm lighting for evening photos
• Central Minneapolis location
Anna and Zach kept things simple:
• Thoughtful table styling
• Close family and friends
• Intentional speeches
• A relaxed dinner celebration
It felt elevated without feeling overproduced.
If you’re considering Khâluna or another Minneapolis restaurant for your wedding:
Restaurant receptions shine when they feel curated and cozy.

There’s something deeply beautiful about choosing intentional over extravagant.
Anna and Zach’s day wasn’t about production — it was about connection.
They exchanged vows surrounded by roses at one of the most iconic Minneapolis gardens, then celebrated with their closest people over incredible food.
That’s what I love most about intimate Minneapolis weddings.
They allow space to breathe.
To feel.
To be fully present.
If you’re dreaming of:
• A Lyndale Rose Garden ceremony
• A Lake Harriet elopement
• A Khâluna reception
• Or an intimate Minneapolis wedding
I would love to help you plan a day that feels intentional, effortless, and completely you.
